A few weeks ago, I noted that PRoMED, an infectious disease alert system, was in trouble. Well, it seems it was far worse than anyone knew.
Apparently, that letter from July 20 was sent out without any of the PRoMED staff signing off on it, even though the letter was signed “The PRoMED team.” It also appears that the staff won’t be paid for two months. In response, the entire working staff is suspending their activities and has launched a de facto strike.
It, again, is worth noting that Meta/Facebook burned about $40 million per day to create legless avatars.
