This came across the transom:
.@MayorBowser is appointing a new commission to debate how to transform health care in the city. Former CM David Catania is co-chair. He’s also a lobbyist for Sibley Hospital and Unity Health Care. Bowser says disclosures and other steps will be take to avoid conflicts.

Leaving aside Catania’s lobbying ties, he is a Republican. Have Democrats learned nothing over the last couple of decades? Why would she appoint a Republican to a commission, especially one having to do with healthcare? I assure you, Republican-dominated areas aren’t appointing liberal Democrats to commissions to oversee the transformation of healthcare.
The only legitimate argument against D.C. statehood is that the Republic would be spared the possibility of Senator Muriel Bowser.
