Commonwealth Avenue: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

We can get the bad and the ugly out of the way. Here’s the press corps installing themselves at Exeter and Commonwealth:

I will always remember how little the media did to help the people out there who had, at that point, nothing but the clothes on their backs (and by “little”, I mean “nothing”). Fucking vultures (and that’s an insult to vultures).

But even though the press corps is encrusting itself on Comm. Ave., there’s no reason to forget that this is the time of year when all of the magnolias on Commonwealth are blooming. They’re the legacy of Laura Dwight who wanted to reverse the decline of the neighborhood, so she bought a bunch of magnolia trees and offered to plant them in people’s front yards. Not a bad legacy:
