Germany: mass shooting attempt that killed two was antisemitic attack, minister says
I believe this event will tell us something about the competence of German police in that town. For example, was the shooter immediately relieved of enough of his blood to do a full battery of tests to learn what he might have in his system. All his equipment had to come from somewhere, and will they find out who provided it? When his original mission of mass murder failed, randomly shooting at strangers passing by strikes me as something done by either a 75 IQ dolt or a fellow who was doped to his eyeballs.

I doubt it. This story strikes me as pure nonsense.

I hate articles like this – they slap me in the face like a cold wet rag and once again remind me of the depraved upper levels of Government. I turned away from it so quickly that it didn’t even get saved to harddrive. That’s fixed now, but I’ll have to be in a better mood than I am now to return to the thing and start seething again.

    A Betrayal Too Far
Search as I might, I could find no record of the author publishing anything about US (or international) politics before the 2016 election. I’d never heard of the guy, but his novels seem to be popular. He really ought to stick to those, for the man displays no skill at all when he gets into geopolitics. A person has to wonder how he’d respond if asked to compare the Butcher of Libya with Trump and his ‘betrayal’ of the Kurds. Also, what are his thoughts about Obama starting the bloodletting in Iraq and Syria. Especially Syria – where the body count seems to be in the ‘6-figure’ range.

These two pieces convinced me the real problem is California. They no longer have a decent government out there, and naturally outfits like PG&E run amok. I’ve never even visited the place, but I’d wager both parties are pretty much worthless. Maybe that’s wrong, but I’ve heard that since the 2016 election the Democrats have had a super-majority. Yet the only news story I can recall is the recent one of California taking down the NCAA a few pegs.

Australia Just Had a Bad Flu Season. That May Be a Warning for the U.S.
I’ve been reading about how the effectiveness of the vaccine wanes as the season goes on, so this year I’ve decided not to be an early bird as usual, but delay my vaccination for a few weeks till at least the end of this month. Basically I want to maximize my ‘coverage’ during January/February 2020 – supposedly around the peak of the flu season.
