In light of the non-scandal Republicans tried to gin up over James Talarico’s absence from the Texas Senate race due to a bout of influenza, Democratic candidates should be getting vaccinated against influenza. Leaving aside what is the best time in ‘normal’ years to get vaccinated–though does influenza seem to be very early this year–if you are a candidate, you would much rather get sick after the election than before it, so they should get vaccinated early.
(yes, it’s not always that effective, depending on the year, but it still does lower the likelihood and severity of symptoms).
