Trump’s Ukraine Defense Is the Same One He’s Used for Years: I Did It. So What?
I hadn’t heard about the successful vandalism of years past, but he knows he got away with it. He also knows Pelosi and the others have been letting him get away with his Constitution trashing from his earliest Presidential days. Why should Trump do anything else besides flipping them off? If you review the Nixon era, you’ll learn the Republicans back then were somewhat concerned about White House Crimes. These days they don’t bother to even pretend to care. Unfortunately, neither do the Democrats. I’m still not convinced Pelosi and her buddies aren’t playing to lose.

    The Conscience of Bret Stephens
Interesting family history! I have a few relatives and ancestors who had some pretty wild families, and not all of them turned out to be jerks.

Stephens, of course, is not actually a bedbug, even though he was called one on Twitter by a once-obscure professor named David Karpf.

This is true. I now prefer (the twitters hashtag?) “Bretbug Stephens”.

HOW MANY ELECTORAL VOTES DO THE 1950S HAVE?
    A 9-person ‘focus group”? I’m underwhelmed.

The Whole Team is In on It

The President has deserved to be impeached for years.

Total agreement with this. The rest of the article reminds me why I ditched the TPM site years ago.

Today Amongst Our Liberal Legal Elites

During the course of his career, Scalia has denied the science behind repetitive stress injuries, prevented UPS drivers injured on the job from having the ability to form a class to sue, and — most outrageously — insisted that an employee at Ford Motor Company should soil themselves at work rather than be allowed the privacy to work from home.

Everything these days is about Trump Trump Trump, but we have to remember the vast majority of the GOP representatives are pond scum to even consider a person like this – let alone put him into the position of Labor Secretary. (Sadly, I would expect some of the more worthless Democrats to vote for him along with the Republicans.)

Overhaul the Business of Wall Street
Remaking the financial system does not require any new laws.
If this is correct, I begin to understand Wall Street’s fear and hatred of Warren.

The strategic case for impeaching Donald Trump
When I see a link is to the WP, I automatically assume a ‘defensive’ attitude. I was pleasantly surprised to find this article to be quite a sensible one.

The strategic case for impeaching Donald Trump
This article has a few notable nuggets, but overall I’d grade it as a D-. I believe if either Warren or Sanders win the Presidency, they’ll sweep a swarm of new Democrats into Congress. (Perhaps that’s one reason the Big Brass Democrats are so desperate to keep reformers from challenging the “Blue Dog” fakes in the primaries.) Roosevelt took over with that kind of majority, and ran with it. Obama did the same, quickly pissed it away. and governed as a centrist Republican.

Yair Lapid Wants to Teach Israelis to Understand American Jews. Will He Get the Chance?
BS article. Google this character’s name and you’ll learn he’s a “smiling” and “friendly” Zionist.
The Apartheid state gets Jerusalem. It keeps the Golan. The stolen “settlements” on the West Bank – OURS!

Lapid is a vocal opponent of the BDS movement, which seeks to economically isolate Israel. He has said, “We can no longer abandon this battle to the haters of Israel. We need to defend Israel’s good name in the world. They are besmirching us, and the time has come to answer them.” Lapid has also helped college students in America fight BDS.

Lapid has spoken out vehemently about the United Nations’ bias against Israel. In an op-ed, he excoriated the United Nations Human Rights Council for voting for “61 resolutions condemning human rights abuses across the world, and 67 resolutions which condemned Israel” in the past decade and having its own agenda item on Israel. Lapid blames UNESCO for erasing Jewish history.

Why casual murdering and massive thefts and ethnic cleansing would besmirch anybody’s “good name” is a mystery.

Why Would a Whistle-Blower Save This Nation of Cowards?
    A frothing-at-the-mouth rant. I loved it.

Resistance Evolution against Phage Combinations Depends on the Timing and Order of Exposure
A part in ‘normal English which I understood:

Globally rising rates of antibiotic resistance have renewed interest in phage therapy where combinations of phages have been successfully used to treat multidrug-resistant infections. To optimize phage therapy, we first need to understand how bacteria evolve resistance against combinations of multiple phages.

There have been at least a couple of times in my life I’d have died without antibiotic treatment. Those antibiotics are failing fast, and I strongly suspect such new ones as get developed will be quietly reserved for Rich People. This is a promising alternative, and one which needs to be pursued with vigor.
