*** Trump shows us again what he thinks of Jews ***
    Key part to me:
^^^ Don’t expect Netanyahu to condemn the remarks, either. As with Trump, his own reelection is what really matters. ^^^
Neither of these two criminals gives a hoot about American Jews, though both will pretend to do so if it suits them. At this time my money is on Netanyahu getting reelected. His “base” is far more insane than Trump’s, and for the past several years they’ve been riding high. According the tea leaves I’ve been reading, Netanyahu is about to roll the (loaded) dice again.

^^^ Last week, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rebuffed all existing Rules of Engagement (ROE) in Iraq and Lebanon, showing his readiness for war and an apparent willingness to ignite it. For the first time since 2006 his drones violated the old rules of engagement; an Israeli drone exploded in a southern suburb of Beirut, in unclear circumstances. Despite this lack of clarity and the attack’s less than obvious conditions and objective, a few hours later Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah promised to attack Israel in retaliation for the killing of two Hezbollah operatives in Syria. Now Netanyahu has attacked again. Israeli jet attacked a 1982 base of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command FPLP-GC) in the Lebanese Bekaa Valley. ^^^

Netanyahu wants a fight, and he wants it NOW. The leaders of the Apartheid state may be vile, but nobody is accusing them of stupidity. They see the same political situation as everyone else – Trump Is Toast – and they want to milk him for all he’s worth while he’s still around. That the Trumpster shows more and more signs of being unhinged is all the better. Killing those two Hezbollah men means there is going to be some violence over that way sooner rather than later. Netanyahu expects the coming conflict to grease the skids for his re-election. That’s the way to bet, but he’s taking an awful chance with the lives of other people. And one more time, whatever fallout there is for American Jews won’t bother him the least little bit.

(A newer post at my link site is this story: “Hezbollah will respond to Israel: but When? How? And at What Cost?” I know what I’d do if I were in a Hezbollah leadership position, and thus I’ll be curious to hear what they’ve decided in the way of retaliation.)

*** The Economist Who Believes the Government Should Just Print More Money ***
You can do this in a life/death situation. For ordinary government operations I agree with the fellow who said “It’s wrong.”

*** ICE raid separates 4-month-old baby from breastfeeding mom ***
    Swine.
There is another current headline of interest regarding this particular raid.
“Hundreds of Their Workers Were Arrested in Mississippi ICE Raids, But No Employers Have Been Charged Yet”
It’s all a big play/pretend thing. The Government enforces only the laws which benefit Big Business.

*** Top U.S. medical centers roll out DNA sequencing clinics for healthy (and often wealthy) clients ***
    From that story:
^^^ “The question that’s hard to answer is whether there are long-term benefits that justify those health-care costs — whether the sequencing itself, the physician visit, and any downstream testing that’s stimulated will be justified by the situations where you can find and prevent disease,” Green said. ***
This could be merely a scheme to soak dumb people with too much money. But after adjusting my tinfoil hat, I can imagine the rich guys very quietly starting some pressure lobbying to push Federal Research money into directions more suited to their own, personal, interests.

*** Plague-infected prairie dogs prompt shutdowns near Denver. Fleas can spread it to pets and humans. ***
This story doesn’t add up for me. The disease has been present in the West for many, many decades. Why all the excitement about it now? And why the focus on innoculating wildlife and not people? Why not both?
