This is not a bad essay, but neither is it an adequate one. The author has a Masters degree in “science, environment and medicines journalism” from Columbia U. Reviewing her past articles at Vice told me she doesn’t understand the implications of the things she is reporting. I saw a constant theme of “we’ll adjust” to climate change. This is exactly what the Big Fossil Fuel folks are peddling now. A Vice article she wrote in May had this title: “Climate Change Could Mean More Kids, Not Less”. I found the reasoning to be really tortured, but never mind – IMO something else entirely will result in Equatorial Warming – a massive die-off of creatures who cannot relocate. This will include humans.

Excellent. I’m getting tired of reading Science Studies financed by dueling industries.

If The Law says he can’t do this, then the law is an ass. “Privatizing” everything is getting out of hand. Patenting nature is another scheme to screw over the world.

The insulin links make my blood boil. Constantly raising drug prices just to make some filthy rich bastards even wealthier is obscene. Yet it’s just not right for government to do anything, for it would trample the rights of the blood-suckers.

Opinion: some institutions become obsolete with the changing times. Orchestral concerts, along with baseball, bowling, and roller skating are no longer priority items on which to spend hard-earned money. Hardly anybody is writing new opera because it has evolved into the far more popular Musical Theater in most places.
