Of Course Metro Didn’t Meet A Deadline

Given that the Metro GM has proposed a whole series of rolling shutdowns and single-track period, I’m not filled with confidence when I read that the repairs to the cooling system for the Dupont Circle and Farragut North stations have once again been pushed back, this time to July 1 (from May 1, 2016)–which as I noted with the original deadline of August 1, 2015, is simply a place holder date.

I’m filled with confidence, as it seems the delay has to do with permits, not hard-to-find parts or some other obstacle.

And it’s worth noting again that every time a poll of riders is taken, concerns about service, scheduling, and reliability place much higher than safety. Then again, when you live in a colony, federal bureaucrats can dictate whatever they like.
