But Maybe It Should Have?

(from here)

I get what Senator Bernie Sanders is getting at, but maybe if the Democrats played by the rules–all of the rules–we would have had a better healthcare system, a larger economic recovery, and so on. Yes, there are things one shouldn’t do for political gain (i.e., threatening the full faith and credit of the Republic along with the global economy), but, unlike many, my main problem with Republican strategy over the last few years (e.g., shutdowns, filibusters) is that their cause is not just. Opposition parties should oppose to the extent they are able, especially if they think the policies are awful, and governing parties should do what they can to govern including thwarting the opposition (legally of course).

Otherwise, what’s the point of having elections?

    yes indeed, it should have.

  2. I do not understand your point. What should Democrats have done?

You mean if the Democrats had got rid of the Senate filibuster for everything when congress started in 2009? Otherwise I don’t understand your point.
