Far be it from me to defend whack-a-loon Jenny McCarthy but the pertussis article is just filled to the brim with disinformation. I got pertussis back in 1995, despite being vaccinated numerous times during my military stint. The doctor explained to me that the vaccination is not permanent, rather lasts 8-10 years. The outbreak came as a result of immigrants to sunny California, not because it suddenly appeared among the young and unvaccinated. Guess what, immigrants will keep coming, and the vaccine may wear off any day. So yes, it’s important to be vaccinated (especially if you’re young, under age 5) but that vaccine will eventually fail and you will be susceptible again. Oh and one last thing, after day three of my antibiotic regimen (which I continued for the remaining 5 days) the cough subsided. So the reporter is pretty much a moron for allowing it to go on as long as she did.

Millions of baby boomers in poverty. Why do you think that people have been bad mouthing boomers for years? So that the rest of us will accept poverty for aged boomers as their just deserts. The right wing propaganda machine in this country is awesome! 🙁
