The First Rule of Southern Strategy: There Is No Southern Strategy

And it appears South Carolina Republican Rep. Kris Crawford forgot that very important rule (boldface mine):

Rep. Kris Crawford, a Republican from Florence and also an emergency room doctor, supports the expansion but expects the Republican caucus to vote as a bloc against the Medicaid expansion.

“The politics are going to overwhelm the policy. It is good politics to oppose the black guy in the White House right now, especially for the Republican Party,” Crawford said.

Same as it ever was.

This, of course, will never be referred to as identity politics.

Also, they are not racist, just interested in preserving freedom. Or something.

Racism is based on the lie that the white man is of a separate and superior race than that of the african race because the white man’s ancestors did not come from africa but from somewheres else.
