The Myth of Wealthy Social Security and Medicare Recipients

What’s enraging whenever well-to-do pundits and polticians argue that we ‘all’ need to sacrifice–that is, the needy surrender even more of the meager remnants of the social safety net–is that it ignores that, for most recipients, these programs are critical to their survival. They are not living the high-life. Most people who receive Social Security have very little outside income:
