56 percent either strongly agree or somewhat agree with this statement. And keep in mind, this poll isn’t asking something like “Is Trump doing a good job?”, it’s asking if Trump is “a potentially dangerous dictator.” That’s a very specific statement, and the majority of Americans agree with that description. It should probably worry Trump that one out of five sympathizers or adherents of Christian nationalism also agree strongly with this description.
Yet our supposed betters in the political press corps, not to mention Congress, will still pretend that Trump is an immensely popular president who can’t be opposed.
Utter elite failure.

The professional Democrats have been in a state of continuous elite failure since McGovern lost the 1972 Presidential election. And it seems to get worse election by election.
