In the event that democrats ever regain the majority and the guts to use it they need to revamp the tax code to disincentivize replacing humans with machines. I suggest putting in place a tax on any automated system that replaces human work equal to the taxes that that human would have paid. Not just income tax, but Social Security, Medicare, and all state and local taxes.
