Yesterday, if you haven’t heard, Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, aka ‘Gestapo Barbie’, announced:

We are not going away. We are staying here to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city.

At which point, CA Senator Alex Padilla attempted to ask her a question, and Sen. Padilla was then tackled by security and handcuffed.

Any elected official worth a damn should raise hell when the head of the federal internal security forces talks about ‘liberating’ a state’s largest city from its democratically-elected leaders. Even without the violence against Padilla, Noem should be removed from office on that basis alone. If she does not resign, she should be impeached, and Democrats need to push this. This is not a hard call or a hard argument to make.

Hell, imagine if either Obama’s or Biden’s DHS secretaries had done something like this to Oklahoma. Of course there would have calls for impeachment–and not just of the secretary either.

Democrats do have moves they can make to force the issue here, and it’s not only the politically savvy move, it’s also needed to protect our freedom. If nothing else, force Republicans to own this.
