Apropos of nothing but… Greenland? The U.S. military already has a base there, an early cold war radar base north of the arctic circle at Thule. Still an active radar facility I think. Called something other than Thule now, I believe. Built on the ice if I recall on a cost+ contract. Hope the ice doesn’t melt out from under the giant radar towers.
