If you haven’t heard the International Criminal Court is seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Gallant, as well as Hamas leaders Yehya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, and Ismail Haniyeh for crimes against humanity and war crimes. A few questions come to mind:
- This presents a tremendous opportunity to resolve the conflict, at least over the short and mid-term. Will it be seized by various parties?
- Netanyahu was supposed to speak in front of the U.S. Congress–and last time he did that, it was an unpaid campaign commercial for Trump. It’s going to be hard to invite Netahyahu now, and it paints attempts to do so in a different light. Will he still get the invitation? Will support for an invitation break down by party lines?
- These appear to be strong cases in my non-expert eyes–here’s a view by human rights experts (full report)–that rely primarily on what the entire world has seen. Will various supporters of either of the accused parties outside of Israel and Palestine scale back their support for them?
Anyway, I hope this moves things towards a cessation of violence.

What has “the entire world seen”?
Completely unverified casualty figures, that have been proven to be faked from a statistical analysis – and which not even the UN trusts – from a terrorist group that lies constantly about everything? Scattered scenes also produced by that terrorist group?
And you think that justifies ending a completely just war with the lowest ratio of civilian deaths in history? Is your understanding of this conflict as shallow as the college protesters?
The phrase “lowest ratio of civilian deaths in history” gives the lie to your claims.
