We have a local dairy licensed to sell raw milk from Jersey cows. It is absolutely delicious, but every year there are a few cases of listeria. For a while we drank it because it tasted so good, but we’d never serve it to children, old people or people with health problems. We’re a lot older now, so we don’t drink it anymore. If you are the kind of person who figures that whatever benefit you are getting from raw milk is worth the risk of listeria, you are rather unlikely to worry about getting H5N1.
