Many moons ago, I noted that narcissists create an environment of lies, which ultimately results in some people desperately needing to tell someone, anyone the truth:
There’s a reason–when you have a narcissist as a boss, you live in a constant environment of lies:
Just like the addict’s primary goal is to get that fix, the narcissist’s primary goal is to maintain the fantasy. They will construct elaborate mechanisms to deny unpleasant realities. Plainly put, they turn everyone around them into liars. You have to lie as a self-defense mechanism in order to fend off and manage the impulsiveness, the bouts of inadequacy, the hare-brained ideas, and the laziness and ineptitude. If you are a reasonably honest person, this is soul-crushing.
When you work in such an environment, you have the desperate need to tell the truth to maintain your own humanity. To survive emotionally in such an environment requires you tell someone the truth. If doing so harms the person who is making you miserable, that’s another benefit.
Well, after nearly four years, and far too long, I think the political press corps has reached its psychological breaking point–call it the ‘bullshit inflection point’: the point at which people who constantly have to treat utter bullshit with a veneer of legitimacy just psychologically can’t do it anymore.
Example #1, Jim Acosta of CNN:

These guys aren’t not ‘left’ by any stretch of the imagination, and their disgust has little to do with policy. Instead, I think, like many of the journalists covering the White House and Republicans, they are tired at having to dealing with utterly shameless lying (at least, dress it up a little). Of course, Biden being up big in polls probably doesn’t hurt either, but still, I think we’ve reached the bullshit inflection point. I just hope it’s not too late.
