    Timothée Poisot’s blog entry — Stop Submitting Papers — doesn’t seem to allow any more comments, so I hope you will forgive me for commenting here that he does not, in fact, stop submitting papers; he simply allows more time for comments before submitting them. Those of us whose careers started in the pre-interwebz days are very familiar with this strategy: we’d circulate copies of our papers widely to friends and colleagues whose views we valued, and work on several additional drafts before finally submitting — the only difference between this venerable tactic and Poisot’s recommendation is the technology involved. And, as I noted, he still submits….
