But Why Are They Scared All the Time, Senator?

It appears Utah Republican Representative Jason Chaffetz has taken a break from ensuring the citizens of D.C. don’t have democracy so he can demagogue about the Patriot Act (boldface mine):

“I don’t think he’s listening to America,” Representative Jason Chaffetz, Republican of Utah and a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, said of Mr. McConnell. “The seminal question is how much liberty are we going to give up for security? People are on the brink. They’re scared out of their wits.”

Well, Senator Shithead, who do you think is responsible for large swathes of the U.S. jump at shadows? What party, which political movement has stoked an irrational climate of fear, has encouraged this fear? Maybe if Republicans didn’t spend so much time terrorizing their own supporters, People Would Not Be On The Brink.

    *People* aren’t on the brink.

*HIs people* are on the brink. That he doesn’t understand or care about the difference is why he should have no power over anything at all.
