    Enjoying your Civil War theme. Thanks as always. I took a Southern road trip this past summer, immersed myself in as much civil war culture I could, especially asking people about it, but also the typical reading, visiting battlefields, re-enactments, cemeteries etc. The people usually have an opinion on one side or the other (here in Boston its ancient history, no one here cares that much). It is interesting to get people’s opinion on state’s rights as reason for secession. It seems that those who lean right are most in favor of anything that will embarrass Washington. I often reminded people that the Confederate flag is the flag of another country: flying it does not make one “more American” in my view. The youtube link on Confederacy Theory (buried in the piece “The Civil War never ended”) is fascinating. Lots to chew on. Thanks again…
