Re: “Apple Desperately Needs the iPhone 6 to Be a Hit”
That’s yet another entry in the grand genre of ‘Apple must do X or die’ articles. Apple is making almost all of the money being made these days by selling smart phones. Samsung was in the running, but are losing profit share as Chinese and Indian competitors ramp up. They don’t need a ‘hit’. They don’t need to support NFC payments. They don’t need blah blah blah. They need to keep doing what they are doing, selling excellent software running on designed-for-the-software platforms at sane prices.

Apple could stand to work on the “sane prices” part of that statement.
