I Don’t Think This Is Due to the Shutdown: All Alone on the T

So Tuesday I had to go into work late, and wound up taking the T from Copley Station in the late morning (~11am). I had the car all to myself–for two stops:

Even late at night, I’ve never had this happen. Weird.

People are walking and not just for healthy excercise …rather it is because it cost money to ride and there isn’t much to spare. sad but so true….

Are you the guy everyone doesn’t want to sit next to on the T? I was that guy in 1976. I was riding the Green Line late in the evening when the North Station stop was jammed with young people (about my age) from a David Bowie concert at the Gahden. You can imagine the outfits. No one wanted to sit next to the long-haired crazy guy with the math book.

  3. I used to work at a movie theater downtown and took the T home late at night all the time, often catching the last B or C train out of Park Street and I don’t remember ever being the only rider in a car. Very, very weird.
