What the Hell Does This Have to Do with S-CHIP?

By way of Shakes, this display made its way into the House debate on S-CHIP:

What does abortion have to do with healthcare for children? It’s as if conservatives believe in the totemic power of the Fetish of the Fetus. As bad as the Democrats can be, when they usually try to make some semblance of an argument. This is just waving the Bloody Fetus around, and hoping it causes enough people’s brains to shut down their ability to think (‘cuz fetuses are icky).
This is completely insane. How does one have a national conversation about anything when one half is utterly incapable of a semblance of rational thought. Of course, in light of this mural taken from a megachurch:
Prayer for Peace
…anything is possible.
On behalf of the Coalition of the Sane, I want our country back.
Related post: Shakes actually transcribed this lunatic’s speech. He makes the John Birchers look sane.

  1. And here’s another nutjob from the debate yesterday, lol. Enjoy!

  2. natural cynic says:

    Let’s see…
We gotta stop abortion so we can have more kids…
and more kids will need more healthcare…
and more kids will have inadequate healthcare…
so we don’t want to increase SCHIP…
    yeah, makes sense to me.

  3. ks says:

“since the Democrats didn’t ‘defend the children’ I don’t have to either”
I think that’s what he was trying to say.

  4. Jonathan says:

What does healthcare have to do with abortion? You do understand that abortions are a medical procedure right? Despite the blindness of some of you folks, a whole lot of us see abortion as nothing more complicated than murder of a child. We would rather not pay for that. When you try to paint people as stupid by clearly showing your not grasping simple facts like that, you don’t do your self a lot of service.

  5. thanks for all
