Have you ever been really, really hungry? Well, this python certainly was.

It really surprises me that pythons do this sort of thing. I know that they can handle it perfectly well physiologically, but I would think that it would make the python dangerously vulnerable until that bulge goes down (or at least moves to center mass to allow some maneuverability). This guy in particular looks pretty easy to dispose of in his present condition.

Looks like the python had a taste for ‘Kutti pi’ ala nigiri style. But then, with no opposable thumbs and one incredibley unhingable jaw, I suppose grilling ain’t much of an option.
Not sure if lamb fetus is the local equivalent of kutti pi, but here’s a linkydink for the curiously hungry:

If endangered a python can regurgitate at will.
Since the this is obviously a captured and distressed python the rope around its neck is to keep it from disgorging the booby prize.

  4. Troublesome Frog says:

Wow. I wonder how long it takes a python to regurgitate a sheep through a few meters of digestive tract.
Wow again. I never would have guessed that I would type that sentence at any point in my life.

    thanks

  6. Toadman says:

He’s going to regret it when he has to poop out the skull.

  7. Aaisha says:

More than likely, this python will regurgitate the sheep unless he is in a safe place where he can be still for a while until he can move again. He certainly cannot move for about a couple weeks with a load this size. And why is a rope around his neck? What’s really going on?
