The Best TV Science Show Evah?

Marlon Perkins’ “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom.” Long before the Croc Guy, Perkin’s trusty sidekick Jim was getting treed by rhinos, and other fun goodness. Ok, the show wasn’t very sciency, but it had really good natural history. Actually, it’s really the only science-related show that I can remember with any clarity, so it must have done something for me. And it’s all about the Mad Biologist, baby…
An aside: Sure, NOVA is a far better show, but that’s so obvious, it’s not even worth mentioning.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
    Cosmos, baby.
It is interesting to see how the blogosphere is answering this one. The life science types are all crazy about Wild Kingdom and all the physics/astronomy types are all about Cosmos.
I remember Wild Kingsom and while it was great fun to watch, it didn’t keep me up at night thinking deep and wondrous thoughts (well, deep for a kid anyway).
