Today, the Bush Adminstration began leaking its tax “reform” proposals. The proposed changes will “shield interest, dividends and capitals gains from taxation, expand tax breaks for business investment.” To pay for this, “the administration is considering eliminating the deduction of state and local taxes on federal income tax returns and scrapping the business tax deduction for employer-provided health insurance…”
So let’s see, the Mad Biologist will end up paying about $500 more per year in federal income taxes and have his health insurance premiums rise (because they’re not tax-deductable for employers anymore), so that Ken Lay, Steven Forbes, and Paris Hilton can get tax cuts they don’t need.
This sucks. This really sucks. I’m starting to hate these corporate jet conservatives. What I want to do is find one of those “values” voters and tell him, “You got the fetuses, ok? Now pay me my $500 plus.”
