One of the nice things about Bluesky (and I write this as an ‘Elder’-lol) is the ‘Bluesky block.’ When you block someone, their asinine comments in threads disappear, and they can never see your posts or interact with you*. Likewise, you can never see them, so anything outrageous that might piss you off is invisible to you–in fact, you won’t even know who it is (assuming you’ve blocked more than one person).

I bring this up because I wonder how many of the Very Serious People who were dunked on–often correctly–by someone named “BootyMunchie420”, and were turned into the Person of the Day on Twitter might not have lost their minds. That might not have happened with these features. And things might be somewhat different.

*There are some ways for the really technically adept to see your posts, but they still can’t interact with you at all.
