I live on a rural property in South Australia.
I can go online to the libraries site and order books from their catalogue of 100s of 1000s of books [detailed index] and, depending on availability, the books will be delivered to my local library shortly thereafter and that library will notify me by e-mail what has arrived.
And I go and pick them up.
This facility, and other services as well, has been working for years.
