I think that WP article on BLM has some serious flaws, most notably in that the writer has some problems with race. The most telling place was where she made it pretty clear that she has trouble differentiating between BLM and looter because of how they were dressed.

While Dr. King deserves all the praise for how he changed this country, he and social movements have been whitewashed since. If you show anger, you are dismissed. Show up looking less than perfectly respectable, you are dismissed. Don’t have an immediate plan as you get organized, you are lazy.

Oh and make sure you can be connected to a church, because that shows you are respectable.

Great ways to dismiss actual movements and how to turn it ever into “Well, we COULD give you the rights you deserve, but you’re just not what we picture as deserving those rights.”
