Former Republican Executive Director Says Something Horrible About Ebola

I’m shocked, really, I am (boldface mine):

The former general counsel and executive director of the South Carolina Republican Party is coming under fire for the novel solutions to the Ebola epidemic he is posting on Twitter.

The vehemently pro-life Todd Kincannon began by arguing that anyone who contracts Ebola should be summarily executed:

People with Ebola in the US need to be humanely put down immediately. RT @AP: Dallas hospital: U.S. Ebola patient in critical condition

— Todd Kincannon (@Todd__Kincannon) October 4, 2014

The protocol for a positive Ebola test should be immediate humane execution and sanitization of the whole area. That will save lives.

— Todd Kincannon (@Todd__Kincannon) October 4, 2014

Ebola has a strong transmission vector through health care personnel. No effective way to contain while treating.

When called out on his logic, he replied:

.@Tucker_Madison How many new infections are there per victim? If the number is more than 1, euthanize at 50/50. That’s just math.

— Todd Kincannon (@Todd__Kincannon) October 4, 2014

Kincannon then began to pontificate about the cause of the Ebola outbreak in Africa:

.@SapiensUnited The people of Africa are to blame for why it’s so shitty. They could stop eating each other and learn calculus at any time.

Kincannon manages to call Africans cannibals and monkeys in the same tweet: double your bigotry, double the fun!

That aside, it’s the glee with which he approaches the killing of sick people that’s galling. Clearly, he’s the type of guy when he climbs into the lifeboat, immediately determines who he’s going to eat first–just in case, of course.

And, yes, he was a Republican Party official. One wonders how many other GOP officials think like this, but have the brains to keep their mouths shut. No doubt, Charles Pierce is despairing for the GOP rebranding….
