Our system of criminal justice mandates that all who are charged with crimes are considered innocent until proven guilty. It is the job of the prosecution to establish that a crime was committed and that the person charged is guilty of it. It is the job of the criminal defense attorney to make sure the prosecuter does his/her job properly, so that innocent people are not convicted of crimes.
