How Could One Tell This Is Not a Republican Congressman?

This is like a Turing test for the detection of insanity (boldface mine):

“He [God] will not be mocked,”…yelled into the microphone as she was dragged off by security. “The greatest deception here is that this is not one nation under God. It never was. It would not have been. The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons. They go against God. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God. Praise be to Jesus.”

OK, so it wasn’t a Republican congressman, it was the House stenographer (and, in her defense, how could one possibly not have a couple of bolts shake loose if one had to dutifully listen to the august solons of the House?).

But if I had told you Rep. Louis Gohmert or some other member of the loony caucus had uttered this, you would probably be shocked…but not surprised. Consider some causes célèbres of the Wackaloon right:

invisible light bulb vigilantes, who think that international disarmament means you won’t be able to own a handgun, who think ceiling fan regulations are an assault on OUR FREEDOM!, who think finding out how medical interventions perform will lead to death panels, who think smart electric meters are part of a nefarious monitoring plot (even as they don’t really seem upset about the ongoing domestic surveillance revelations), and who think the detailed Census infringes upon OUR FREEDOM! (THEY MAY TAKE OUR LIVES, BUT THEY’LL NEVER COUNT OUR TOILET BOWLS! WOLVERINES!)

This is yet another reason why we can’t let paranoid NeoBirchers run things.
