    re brown fat – it would be cool if those of us living in the super-size deep south could blame all our extra adiposity on the climate.

    But the remarks about tax havens are spot on. It should also simply be regarded as the corruption that it is. The authors of the mentioned book also prefer the term secrecy jurisdictions, which better encapsulates what they actually do.
