A few weeks ago, I was down in DC, and went to the U.S. Botantical Garden. The USBG has some pretty cool catci, although one problem is that a lot of the name plates are very small, so I couldn’t make out what some of the plants are (for obvious reasons, one doesn’t lean precariously over catci). Also, some of these aren’t cacti, but simply desert-adapted plants. Anyway…

I’ve always liked Haworthia ever since I lived in Long Island. No, it’s not native there, but Planting Fields Arboretum had a greenhouse with an amazing diversity of Haworthia. Here’s some for ya:
