Yesterday, Politico, in a rare instance of journalism, ran a story about a release of thousands of racist text messages among leaders of the Young Republicans–the very same Young Republicans various high end media outlets ran puff pieces about. You’ll be surprised to learn that the Young Republicans are actually very ‘woke.’

KIDDING! Of course they’re bigoted as hell. That, unfortunately, is not news to anyone who has been paying attention.

At least one is an elected state official in Vermont now–and it’s so bad that even Vermont Republicans have called for his resignation (which hasn’t happened yet). It also appears that at least several of these racist pigs have ties to national Republican officials.

But besides the obvious shock at their stupidity*, though not their nature, two things are worth noting. First, these racist scum are the people older Republicans would turn to in order to understand newfangled things and to attempt to appear cool (lol). This explains a lot, such as the constant racist trolling from various government agencies’ public media accounts.

Second, over the last couple of years there have been a spate of stories about how liberal women won’t perpetuate the white race date conservative men. Well, holy habaneros, why would they? There’s no reason to think the Young Republicans are any different from other conservative men, and women shouldn’t date them–or feel in some bizarre way, obligated to date them.

Anyway, it’s shocking that they were this stupid–there is no group that backstabs more than Young Republicans, so why allow any of them to have blackmail against you–but the bigotry isn’t surprising at all.

*Maybe it’s because I came of age during the Cold War, but never commit to paper anything you don’t want people to read. That is actually being “clean on OPSEC”, to use Secretary Kegseth’s phrase.
