Opinion time: I see this is a silly waste of time and resources. Those students, even in the unlikely event they became good at “coding,” cannot compete with desperate people overseas. Remember how Boeing hired $9/hour workers for the 737 MAX? If Microsoft must be coddled, teach them how to “possibly” secure their handhelds and desktops against hackers and spies. Off the top of my head, I’d say offer them a Nutrition class. A GOOD one to improve their chances of avoiding obesity and diabetes. Another possibility might be to have a “shop” class where the students learned to make simple household repairs. Replacing a bad wall switch or outlet. Rewiring a lamp. Practice using a VOM to make simple diagnostics. on appliances. Change the oil in a car/truck. This may sound trivial until you look at what a Dealer charges for this and other work like plugs and filters. Teach all the students how to change a wheel on a vehicle. They could be thrown “curve balls” like working on the typical over-torqued lug nuts left careless tire dealers. Also, there are always “advanced placement” courses to count towards any college work.

Pure nonsense. The author admits the main problem is a subverted Supreme Court – fix that first.

It’s those Supremes again. The list of horrors this branch of government has caused is as long as your arm. Bush vs. Gore. The opening of unlimited big money in elections. Fix the freaking Supreme Court, starting with a limit on the time they’re allowed to be on that court. And make the Supreme Court subject to the rules all the other Federal Courts must follow. Thomas would already be a goner if this were the case. Perjury during confirmation would lead to their being thrown off the court.
Yes, fix the Supreme Court first.
