More brilliance from the Stupidest Political Party in Recorded History™ (boldface mine):
“A member of Congress told me Democrats big 2018 slogan, which is set to be released Monday. It’s: ‘Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages'” tweeted Vox congressional reporter Jeff Stein on Thursday. He later deleted that tweet and corrected it by noting the full slogan was actually “A Better Deal: Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages.”
First of all: better? That’s as tepid as it gets. Second, you lead off with (and for that matter, include at all) skills? You’ve just called everyone who has lost a demanding job stupid. Workers need jobs and wages. Skills is a call out to employers.
But maybe this is something they thought of quickly?
Stein said that a member of Congress “noted that this is the result of months of polling and internal deliberations among the House Democratic caucus.”
Rank and file Democrats deserve far better than the professional Democratic class. What fucking morons.

Dear Mike – In the past I have been somewhat put-off by your use of the phrase “fucking morons” – seemed a little bit too abrasive, shall we say. But when it comes to the Democratic leadership, I am afraid you are right: there is just no other way to accurately describe them.
As the husband of one of those morons, I can tell you that no one cares what voters in NYC with college degrees think of this message.
The districts in play are suburban and exurban voters who think your college degree is a colossal waste of money and have no interest in it. What they want is the skills to get a good job.
Lost the House, lost the Senate, lost the Presidency, lost dozen of governorships and statehouses [and lost me – I no longer work for or contribute to democrats]; only brilliant leaders could accomplish that. And I am not fully sure it is jobs that people want – more like guaranteed healthcare and guaranteed income, since it looks like many jobs are going to robots.
An adverstisement jingle ripped off from a republican pizza maker. Eeeeyup, that’ll get my vote.
Leading off with skills also implies that this is a step by step process.
“Well, when YOU get the skills, YOU (may) get the job, which (might) lead to better wages.”
Why not just scream “BOOTSTRAPS!!”?
How would you turn “apprenticeship programs, community college affordability, and student loan forgiveness” into 6 words or less?
Jeff Stein is a troll who routinely gets it wrong in whatever direction males Democrats look stupid.
The message is: A Better Deal.
The person this message is not designed for? The *exact* person who this message is least concerned with? The Platonic Form of who this message is NOT pitched at?
White males over 30 with college education or higher.
Yeah, it’s a brilliant slogan. We just can’t see it because of our age, race, genetalia and educations. (BTW, I took seven gap years and worked various manual labor jobs before I became benighted by post secondary education. I can guarantee that in the ears of those to whom you claim it is pitched, this slogan drips of the privilege you’re trying to ascribe to its critics. And blame. I’m living proof that training is a good tool in the policy box, but it should not be the only tool; and it is a piss poor political message to boot.)
