It Appears the Mistake Occupy Made Was to Be Unarmed

This is getting fucking ridiculous (boldface mine):

After two armed men threatened a Bureau of Land Management wrangler on Tuesday in western Utah, workers are removing BLM logos from their vehicles to help avoid additional incidents, the Salt Lake Tribune reported on Thursday.

The wrangler was driving on a highway near Mills, Utah when two people in a pick-up truck pulled up along side the vehicle. The occupants “told him he was No. 1 with that certain gesture,” Eric Reid, the wrangler’s supervisor at the BLM Fillmore Field Office, told the Tribune.

The men then reappeared in the pick-up truck a few minutes later wearing hoods and holding up a sign that read, “You need to die.” One of the men pointed a Glock handgun at the wrangler

According to Reid, the two men put duct tape over their license plate so that the truck could not be identified, a strategy used by Bundy supporters in Nevada.

Once again, we feel the need to quote Comrade Thers:

Anyway, what we have here is a situation where a relatively small minority of Americans are claiming the right, ultimately backed up by their possession of weapons, to define the True Nature of American Freedom.

Which is fine, I guess, at least according to CNN…

How this differs in any important philosophical regard from the position, of, say, the Provisional Irish Republican Army, I cannot say.

How it differs in any practical sense, well (McVeigh cough) who knows.

Doesn’t the right realize that the left is capable of arming itself? Don’t they realize that what they call a Walmart superstore, someone (or someones) very angry could call a very well supplied structure with limited entry points and clear fields of fire? Is this what they want?

Enough already.

Of course if anyone with Occupy was armed, the whole group of them would’ve been attacked by SWAT teams and National Guard with orders to shoot to kill, and frequently. Anyone not believing that needs to look back at the last century of history.
