Bill Nye Boo’d In Texas For Saying The Moon Reflects The Sun

    That was in 2009.

    • It was in 2006. There’s also no evidence that Nye was booed for saying the moon reflects the sun. The news article states that Nye “pointed out that the sun, the ‘greater light,’ is but one of countless stars and that the ‘lesser light’ is the moon, which really is not a light at all, rather a reflector of light.” Perhaps people then walked out because they don’t think the sun is a star; perhaps they walked out because he said something not captured in the newspaper article. Perhaps they did walk out because they think the moon generates light on its own. There is no way to tell from that link!

And boo’d isn’t even a word. To my knowledge, there is never a past tense in the English language that requires an apostrophe.

This is the most un-worthy link I’ve seen on mtmb so far. You don’t fight ignorance when you’re also propagating it.

They have taken down the billboard already, but refuse to apologise.
